Podgórze is currently one of the most practical and popular districts among students in Krakow. Located on the right bank of the Vistula River, it offers a well-developed infrastructure, numerous recreational spots, and a laid-back atmosphere. There is none of the tourist bustle known from the Old Town, but everything you need for living and studying is right on site.

Artistic and Post-Industrial Vibe
The district – and the Zabłocie area in particular – is famous for its alternative character. Former factories and warehouses have taken on a new purpose here, turning into cultural and gastronomic spaces. Students value Podgórze for its proximity to contemporary art museums (MOCAK, Cricoteka), niche cafes ideal for studying, and atmospheric local spots. Additionally, the Father Bernatek Footbridge allows you to walk directly to the neighboring Kazimierz district in just a few minutes.

Nature and Recreation Areas
Podgórze stands out for its large amount of greenery, making it easy to relax after classes without having to leave the city. The immediate proximity of the Vistula Boulevards provides an excellent space for cycling, rollerblading, or walking. Residents also have access to the historic Bednarski Park, hidden in a former quarry, and the Krakus Mound – a popular gathering spot with a panoramic view of the entire city of Krakow.

Student House Location: ZEITRAUM Koszykarska 33
The ZEITRAUM private student house, located at 33 Koszykarska Street in Podgórze, fits perfectly into this district’s character. The property is situated close to the Vistula River, combining a peaceful environment with easy city logistics.
Getting around the city is made effortless by bus stops located just a 2-minute walk from the building and the Kuklińskiego transit junction, which can be reached in 7 minutes. This layout grants direct access to buses and rapid tram lines, allowing you to efficiently bypass traffic jams and precisely plan your daily commutes:
• KAAFM: You can reach the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow Academy by direct bus (lines 174 or 178) in just 7 minutes from the stop right next door.
• UEK: The commute to the Krakow University of Economics takes a dozen or so minutes – the rapid tram from Kuklińskiego (line 20 or 50) takes only 11–13 minutes to reach Rondo Mogilskie.
• Other Universities: Commuting to other campuses is equally short. You can get to the main campus of the Krakow University of Technology (PK) on Warszawska Street via tram line 50 in 10 minutes. Meanwhile, students of AWF (University of Physical Education) and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of PK in Czyżyny have a direct tram line 9 at their disposal, which gets them to their destination in just 15 minutes
